If you plan to have Oil Seed Rape or grass sown in the Autumn you may be eligible for a Hedge Cutting Derogation. All you have to do is send the following information to the Rural Payments Agency (RPA):

  • SBI and business name
  • reason for requesting the derogation, for example, planting oil seed in August quoting GAEC 7a
  • either the land parcel reference numbers where the hedges or trees are located which are to be cut/trimmed or a map showing the sections of hedge or trees that are to be cut/trimmed; and
  • any other supporting evidence, for example, photographs or diagrams
