What CXCS can do for you

For many, the most significant  cross compliance changes will relate to Nitrate Vulnerable Zone requirements or SMR1.

This will apply to those who are in existing zones and also to those in new zones.

To be compliant in this area, farmers must follow the set of requirements below and will have to demonstrate that these have been adhered to.

  • Farm loading not to exceed 170 kgs/ha of nitrogen from livestock manure
  • Closed periods apply to highly available nitrogen manures (over 30% availablity)
  • Exports of manure required if holding is over 170kgs/ha of nitrogen from livestock manures
  • NMAX limits apply to organic and manufactured fertiliser applications
  • Slurry storage capacity must be sufficient
  • Total annual limits apply to applications of manure
CXCS can complete the following:
  • NVZ Calculations
  • Slurry Storage Calculations
    • Including New Zealand style milking
    • Including full "Run & Rise" calculation of slurry storage
  • Slurry Production Calculations
    • Including separated slurry
    • Including rainfall
    • Including New Zealand style milking
  • Livestock Production Calculations
    • Including livestock going off the holding
    • Including livestock coming onto the holding
